The NCR Planning Board has finalized a project to install 500 “urban cool spots” in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad. Each cool spot will feature misting systems, shaded pavilions, water fountains, and cooling pavement to bring down ambient temperatures by 3–4°C. Locations include metro stations, traffic junctions, and public parks. This climate adaptation initiative is part of India’s National Urban Cooling Action Plan. The first phase will be operational by the 2025 summer season.
